Friends and Family, this is a BIG week. We are praying BIG prayers. We are asking God for BIG things. In the midst of a crisis, we are seeing friends and family come together in a BIG way, loving on us, praying for us, and speaking words of hope and encouragement. We love you and can never repay you for your kindness and generosity…but we will spend a lifetime trying. It’s time to rally the troops, pray like never before and to trust that God is with us, He is FOR us, and he is hurting right along side us.
Jeff begins IVIG treatment tomorrow morning at 8 a.m. (He will have 4-5 hour infusions PER day for 5 days in a row). As I mentioned before, this treatment was scheduled before our Mayo visit and before the ALS diagnosis was confirmed. (There is no cure for ALS and IVIG will not improve Jeff’s muscle weakness. We are trying it in hopes of a medical misdiagnosis, as it will treat MMN). We know that modern medicine has its limitations, but we serve a God that has no limitations and He is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine. Nothing is too small. There is NO limit.
EPHESIANS 3:20 — Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.
God is not just able to do more than we ask…but IMMEASURABLY more. He doesn’t stop there. There is no limit. He can go beyond what we ask or IMAGINE. Will you please pray for God to do FAR more, IMMEASURABLY more, than we ask or imagine?
At the same time, I am painfully aware of many situations where God has not answered my prayers. We can’t always understand His purposes, but we shouldn’t doubt His ability or His goodness towards us. We are praying BIG prayers for God to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine. So, our prayer is absolutely for physical healing or a medical misdiagnosis, but it is also a prayer for that which would further His glory through Christ. We are praying BIG, assuming that it is in line with His will and for His glory.
I read this today:
“Pray the largest prayers. You cannot think a prayer so large that God, in answering it, will not wish you had made it larger. Pray not for crutches but for wings.” Our prayer is that God would do through us that which is humanly inexplicable, IMMEASURABLY MORE than we ask or imagine, so that He would get all the glory.
